| Common Name | TG(16:1(9Z)/18:0/18:0)[iso3] |
|---|
| Description | TG(16:1(9Z)/18:0/18:0), also known as TG(18:0/18:0/16:1) or tracylglycerol(52:1), belongs to the class of organic compounds known as triacylglycerols. These are glycerides consisting of three fatty acid chains covalently bonded to a glycerol molecule through ester linkages. Thus, TG(16:1(9Z)/18:0/18:0) is considered to be a triradylglycerol lipid molecule. TG(16:1(9Z)/18:0/18:0) is a very hydrophobic molecule, practically insoluble (in water), and relatively neutral. TG(16:1(9Z)/18:0/18:0) exists in all eukaryotes, ranging from yeast to humans. In cattle, TG(16:1(9Z)/18:0/18:0) is involved in the metabolic pathway called de novo triacylglycerol biosynthesis TG(16:1(9Z)/18:0/18:0) pathway. |
