Common Name | TG(16:0/18:2(9Z,12Z)/20:1(11Z))[iso6] |
---|
Description | TG(16:0/18:2(9Z,12Z)/20:1(11Z))[iso6] belongs to the class of organic compounds known as triacylglycerols. These are glycerides consisting of three fatty acid chains covalently bonded to a glycerol molecule through ester linkages. Thus, TG(16:0/18:2(9Z,12Z)/20:1(11Z))[iso6] is considered to be a triradylglycerol lipid molecule. TG(16:0/18:2(9Z,12Z)/20:1(11Z))[iso6] is a very hydrophobic molecule, practically insoluble (in water), and relatively neutral. TG(16:0/18:2(9Z,12Z)/20:1(11Z))[iso6] can be biosynthesized from DG(16:0/18:2(9Z,12Z)/0:0) and gondoyl-CoA; which is catalyzed by the enzyme diacylglycerol O-acyltransferase. In cattle, TG(16:0/18:2(9Z,12Z)/20:1(11Z))[iso6] is involved in the metabolic pathway called de novo triacylglycerol biosynthesis TG(16:0/18:2(9Z,12Z)/20:1(11Z)) pathway. |
